HURTIGRUTEN’S “1893 AMBASSADOR” LOYALTY PROGRAM CELEBRATES MEMBERSHIP GROWTH & HIGH REPEAT CUSTOMER RATE

Press release

Hurtigruten's "1893 Ambassador" Loyalty Program Continues to be Huge Success

Untitled Document New York, NY, February 2012 – Less than two years after its launch, Hurtigruten’s “1893 Ambassador” Loyalty Program has achieved an impressive 27,400 members and many have returned to Hurtigruten for a second voyage. The program, expanded worldwide following an overwhelmingly positive customer response during its first six months, welcomed back 10,000 of its members for a voyage in 2011, with a similar outlook for 2012 – more than 6,000 have already made bookings. Members enjoy exclusive 10% discounts on any Classic Norway voyage longer than three days and 5% savings on Explorer Voyages to Europe or the remote destinations of Greenland, Antarctica or Spitsbergen. The discount rewards can be combined with Early-Booking fares, other selected discount programs and are applicable to the cruise component only.

A bevy of other benefits includes a bridge visit on the Norwegian Coastal Voyage; a welcoming fruit basket; three-day bicycle rentals; quarterly member newsletters with background stories and insider tips; and a personalized member card. Members also receive 5% savings on selected excursions on the Norwegian Coastal Voyage itineraries. Current options include a midnight concert in Tromsø, a visit to the Russian border in Kirkenes and a city tour of Trondheim and the Nidaros Cathedral.

“We are continuously working on achieving our goal of increasing customer satisfaction which results in increased repeat bookings,” says International Marketing Manager Sybille Waldt. “We have seen great interest in not only the discount benefits, but also in the Hurtigruten company itself – 90% of our members have subscribed to the quarterly customer journal, which grants behind-the-scenes insights into the world of Hurtigruten.”

Membership in the program is free of charge. Guest who have already cruised can join by visiting www.hurtigruten.us/1893 or calling 877-301-3059; new travelers can join the program while onboard their voyage or after returning home.
