Estancia Olga Teresa is situated in the Rio Verde community, 78 km from the town Punta Arenas. In this beautiful Chilean Patagonian estancia you can enjoy and learn about the traditions of farming in Magallanes in a friendly and warm environment. Today the estancia is one of the most successful farms dedicated to livestock farming and rural tourism in the region. Different demonstrations will show you how a typical chilean estancia works. First you will see a demonstration of the work done by the sheep dogs incl. a brief explanation of the origin and training. The show is given by one of the children of the owners of the estancia.  A shearer, who was trained in New Zealand, will explain and show how to shear a sheep. You will also learn about the animals and the treatment of the wool and the wool industry. Shortly before lunch visit of the “Media Luna” rodeo ring, where you will learn about the Chilean rodeo and certainly see some demonstration. A traditional Chilean barbecue with potatoes and salad prepared with homegrown vegetables will be offered before you head back to the ship.
