Begin the beautiful and interesting excursion going towards the Natural Monument “Los Pinguinos,” located on the Magdalena Island in the Strait of Magellan, 21 miles to the north of the city of Punta Arenas.

Sail across this historical Strait, which has seen numerous famous navigators such as Sir Francis Drake, Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa, Hernando de Magallanes, Charles Darwin travelling through its waters as well as the hatching of thousands of penguins. This beautiful island is inhabited by penguins of Magallanes (Spheniscus magellanicus) and the size of this colony is approximately 60,000 birds, which nest in the whole surface of the island. You will have the possibility of observing also other typical birds of this spectacular place.
