Pre-booked shore excursions
Excursions can be pre-booked up to two weeks prior to departure subject to availability. There is a 5% discount on every shore excursion when pre-booked.
Payment and Currency
Payment of excursions booked in advance must be paid in the same currency as that used to pay for the voyage (USD).
Shore excursions booked on board:
Depending on the space on the chosen excursion bookings may also be made on board. All bookings on board will be charged in Norwegian Kroner (NOK) and the ship’s exchange rate will be used. The price in the local currency may therefore be different due to fluctuations in the exchange rate.
Included excursion: Some excursions are included and do not have to be pre-booked.
Changes/Cancellation by Hurtigruten ASA
The right is reserved to change the price, duration and content or cancel excursions – without prior notice – due to local weather conditions, number of participants or cancellation by the supplier. Please note that the order of sights/routes visited may vary from the description in text, due to traffic and/or capacity.
Minimum/maximum pax number
The excursions may be subject to minimum/maximum numbers. To secure space on the chosen excursion we recommend pre-booking. Excursions might be canceled if the minimum number is not reached or due to conditions beyond our control.
Cancellation by passengers
A change of name in a booking is considered a cancelation and a fee will be charged according to the terms of cancellation. Any passenger may cancel his or her excursion on payment of a cancelation fee. The cancelation date is the date when the cancelation is received by Hurtigruten.
The following fees apply:
Cancelation more than 40 days prior to departure, no fee.
Cancelation between 39 and 20 days prior to departure, 55% of the total price is forfeited.
Cancelation between 19 and 7 days prior to departure, 75% of the total price is forfeited.
Cancelation 6 days prior to departure or later, 100% of the total price is forfeited.
A change of excursion is considered as cancelation and new booking.
Refund of paid shore excursions on board
Pre-booked excursions: Hurtigruten ASA will refund the canceled excursion after the cruise. Excursions booked onboard: Hurtigruten ASA will refund the canceled excursion on board.
Language
Passengers of MS Fram come from many different countries and speak many different languages. Hurtigruten ASA endeavours to provide English or Scandinavian speaking local guides for the optional excursions. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee both languages in every destination and on every excursion. Therefore please pay attention to announcements on board and on every excursion. If possible a member of the expedition team will translate.
Reduction for Children
25% reduction for children from 4 to 15 years old. (Exception: No reduction for children for Helicopter Flights).
What to wear: Some excursions require good footwear because of walking in difficult terrain. Most excursions require that passengers are dressed properly with wind and weather resistant clothes – several layers of clothes! Bring good sunglasses, sun lotion and mosquito repellent.
Walking Information: Unfortunately our excursions have not been specifically adapted for people with disabilities and some are not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Please see the level and notes on individual excursions.
Easy For everyone, mostly panoramic. Only some walking on easy terrain.
Moderate Requires that passengers are in relatively good physical condition and able to walk in rugged terrain. Not advisable for people with knee or hip problems.
More Difficult Strenuous, requires good or very good physical condition
Wheelchairs: Tour buses are not equipped with chair lift or ramp. Collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated in the luggage compartment of most coaches. Tour passengers must be able to access vehicle unaided or with their own assistant/helper as drivers/guides are not covered by insurance to offer assistance.
