Hurtigruten Spring

As the sun returns to rejuvenate the Norwegian shores the temperatures begin to rise as life returns to the land. Days become longer and Springtime colours break out across the landscape as the Arctic grip recedes.

Three seasons in one journey (April - May)

During the course of the voyage you may see the friendly thaw of winter in the south, to stormy winter in the north. From metre high snowdrifts with sprinklings of green grass to roaring waterfalls of meltwater and bird cliffs standing like rocky skyscrapers, full of flying and nesting life.

Spring in Norway is a beautiful adventure, a quiet explosion of life, smells, colours and light.

Why the worlds most beautiful voyage in spring time

Three seasons in one trip
During our trip we can experience three seasons - from full Winter in the north, changing to Spring, and then almost Summer as we head down south.

Contrasts
There are strong contrasts between the northern and southern parts of Norway.

Waterfalls
Norwegian waterfalls are majestic, tall, powerful, and abundant. During Spring, the melting snow makes the waterfalls an even more impressive sight.

Bird life
Birdlife is unique at this time of year.

The National Day
The celebration of National day takes place on 17 May (20 Round Trip departures from 7-27 May include this).
This is an important occasion for Norwegians.

Geirangerfjord/Trollfjord
From April/May Hurtigruten sails into Geirangerfjord and Trollfjord.
