Hurtigruten offers several excursion when the ship is in Trondheim. One is called "Trondheim City Walk". We start at the 19th century harbour before walking to “Stiftsgården”, the royal residence and continue to the market square. Next stop is the Gothic-style Nidaros Cathedral. The impressive Nidaros Catherdral is a national monument. Built over the burial place of St. Olav, the patron saint of Norway, the construction of this enormous building, with its countless details and decorations, began as early as 1070.
