Walk from pier to Plaza de Armas for a short visit and proceed to San Francisco church, the main Catholic church of Chiloé’s capital and rather than the typical style of the other churches of the island, it is Neo-Gothic style. The church was built by carpenters from Chiloé under supervision from Salvador Sierpe. A few minutes later walk to the Plazoleta de Gamboa for a panoramic view of the local palafitos.
Continue downhill to the rich handicraft market to shop and admire the local artisanal work before continuing to the pier.

Remarks/requirements: It is recommendable to wear layered clothing, a windbreaker, rain jacket and good walking shoes. Rain showers are common and unpredictable.
