Lofoten offers mountain hiking experiences you won’t find anywhere else. After a short bus ride through Svolvær and Kabelvåg, you start the walk from the idyllic Rørvika Lake and quickly get a nice view toward the lake and beach. From Rørvikskaret, you follow the path uphill toward Glomtinden, walking through amazing scenery. The view from here is stunning. On a clear day you can even see the mountain chain of Lofotveggen. After a nice break with coffee, tea, and biscuits you start the descent. On the other side of the pass the bus picks you up and takes you to Stamsund, where the ship awaits.
During autumn there are only a few hours of daylight in the north, and with clear skies the only light we see is from the stars, the moon, and sometimes the northern lights. This time of year the hike is done with headlamps.
